Frequently asked questions

This page collects answers to the questions people ask most often about using StitchPress. If your question is not here, the rest of the Getting Started section and the editor manuals cover the tools in more depth.

No. StitchPress runs entirely in your web browser at editor.stitchpress.kinnet.studio. There is nothing to download or install — just open the site.

StitchPress is a browser-based app, and the editors draw on a canvas, so it works best in an up-to-date desktop browser — recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. If something looks wrong, updating your browser to the latest version is a good first step.

Creating an account and using the editors is free. StitchPress is currently invite-only — if you do not have an account yet, join the waitlist from the sign-in page and you will be emailed when a spot opens up.

When you are signed in, your diagrams and patterns are saved to your account and synced automatically as you work — there is no manual “upload” step. A save indicator shows the current status. Sign in on another device and your projects are there too. Work you make in the try editors without an account stays in that browser until you sign in and it is added to your account. See Trying StitchPress without an account.

Sometimes. StitchPress has anonymous “try” editors that let you draw without an account, though this is a launch-gated feature that may not be available to every visitor yet. See Trying StitchPress without an account for how it works.

What languages is StitchPress available in?

Section titled “What languages is StitchPress available in?”

The interface is available in English, 繁體中文 (Traditional Chinese), and 日本語 (Japanese). You can switch under Settings → Appearance → Language. See Accounts and signing in.

Can I share my patterns with other people?

Section titled “Can I share my patterns with other people?”

Yes. You can create a view-only link to a diagram, or invite specific people by email, from the Share dialog on any crochet or knit diagram. See Sharing your diagrams.

Open the actions () menu on a project’s card in Your workspace and choose Delete. StitchPress asks you to confirm, because deleting a project is permanent.

Account details are managed under Settings → Account → Manage account, which opens your profile. If you would like your account and its data removed entirely, use the account management options there, or get in touch with the StitchPress team so we can help.

There is not a built-in feedback button inside the app yet. If you run into a problem, the most helpful thing is to note what you were doing when it happened and reach out through the channel you used to get access to StitchPress.

Can I use the patterns I make commercially?

Section titled “Can I use the patterns I make commercially?”

The diagrams and patterns you create are your own work. StitchPress does not set out separate commercial-use terms inside the app, so if you are planning to sell patterns you have made and want to be certain about the terms, please get in touch with the StitchPress team first.
